The Russian Revolution

the Russian Revolution had a chain of events leading up to it, it started in 1917. the Russian Revolution revolved around two main events, which are known to be the February and OctoberRevolution. the February Revolution removed Tsar Nicholas II from power, developed spontaneously out of a series of increasingly violent. this was very harmful and unsafe toward the citizens there. The October Revolution also known as the Bolshevik Revolution overturned the interim provisional government and established the Soviet Union. Due of the small amount of people who organized it, it was a very deliberate event. After October, the Bolsheviks realized that they could not maintain power in an election-based system. They would have to share power with other parties and compromising their principles. As a result they decided to, formally abandoned the democratic process in January 1918.

Flim Lesson: "Mountains of the Moon"

"Mountains of the Moon" was a film produced 1990 and was based on the true events from 1852. It was mainly about European explorers trying to find the source of the Nile River. they went on a search to Africa. on there adventure to Africa the Europeans faced many problems. the main problems were hungry, the heat, and many more. the lake they found was named Lake Victoria, there was strange because this lake was found in Africa and Victoria was the name of the British Queen. Also even after the Queen had died, the name remained the same. compared to the Africans the Europeans were very advanced in technology. there main technology was the gun. According to the movie, when the Africans first saw the gun and how it was used they were scared but yet amazed. they weren't aware of the harm it could cause. they figured that out when the African leader shot a member of his tribe. Karl Marx and communism

Karl Marx was a German man who created and enforced the idea of communism. communism is basically a system of government in which the state plans and controls the economy and a single, often authoritarian party holds power, claiming to make progress toward a higher social order in which all goods are equally shared by the people. Marx basic idea was to make the workers equal to the owners, since they did most of the work. He made work easier for them. in this way there are no specific owers, they all own the factories. no matter what job you have you will be paid the same as the guy next to you. Marx believe that this was the best way for everyone to be equal. his method worked, but not for long. He beived the worker were the "good guys" and the owners were the "bad guys".

Karl Marx and the Industrial Revolution

Karl Marx was a man with many ideas, that changed the history of Germany forever. His most world wide idea was known the be Communism. Marx argued that workers, rather than landlords, should control factories and farms. He urged the "workers of the world to unite" in a worldwide revolution. later that would soon happen. Marx was opposed to the cruel and harsh conditions the workers had to go through. Marx hated the idea of the Industrial Revolution. He thought the factories and work conditions were very unsafe, this was what lead him to come up with his idea of communism. he wanted "workers of the world to unite" in a worldwide revolution. He thought the workers weren't getting enough pay or regniztion for there work so he wanted the workers to share wealth in a communist society. later that soon happened. sadly though Karl Marx died in 1883, but his ideas lived on forever.
