The French Revolution

During the french revolution there were many different kind of social classes. Many people in France were critical of the nobility. It was around 400,000 people. Made up an amount of there population. They were wealthy and had a lot of money so they didn't have to pay taxes. They were the part of the society that had many privileges. They maintain positions of importance like officers in an army. the kings were the ones who had the most power. they had absolute power.
peasants were the ones who were treated unfairly. In 1789 peasants had several things to grumble about. one begin to carry the burdens of maintaining the feudal lords and clergy.
i think the cartoonist was trying to show how hard it was to be a peasant. the man with the cane(man on the bottom) would represent the peasant. the man one top of him(one to the left) would most likely represent the

John Locke and "The Enlightenment"

John Locke was mainly the most famous of the Enlightenment Thinkers. His ideas heavily influenced Thomas Jefferson when he wrote the U.S. Constitution. Theses ideas are still known today. according to John Locke "All men are created equally", meaning that we as humans should all be treated equally, no matter race, color or gender. He says, that we all the the same rights. these right would be that we should all have "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." The people such as our selfs have the right to alter or to abolish the goverment if anything goes wrong or if we dont like or agree with them.

We the people give all the goverment all the power. therefore we have the power to abliosh them as well. the goverment comes from the people. so if the goverment messes up or makes a mistake we as the people also need to help fix the problems. It is also our right, and our duty to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

Copernicus and the Trial of Galileo

There are two types of of theories for the solar system, such as the geocentric and the heliocentric. the heliocentric theory is that the sun is in the center of the solar system. The other theory is the geocentric otherwise known as the geocentric model. The geocentric model created by Greek astronomers assumed that the celestial bodies moving about the Earth followed perfectly circular paths. this theory was to believe that the the earth was in the center and the other planets and stars revolved around it. the heliocentric theory was created first and that was the one the catholic churches believed in. then later on Galileo came up with another theory known as the Geocentric model. this proving that the sun was in the middle and the earth and everything else revolved around it. his theory came out of the scientific revolution. the trail of galileo was huge. the church had refused to believe in his theory. He was ordered imprisoned; the sentence was later commuted to house arrest.

Evolution vs. Creation

Both of evolution and creation makes sense. they both have some very good points. Althought i cannot choose one but i choose both. i was thought to believe creation, but i don't think that was all. for those who said it was because of evolution such as Darwin, would believe that the earth slowly evolved from common ancestors. not to say that theory is wrong but where did that species come from in the first place. for those who believed in creation might say that god created them. although that may be right but what proof do you have. i personal don't know in what to believe.
