Robespierre and The Reign of Terror
The Reign of Terror was from September 5, 1793 to July28, 1794. it was mainly a period of violence that occurred fifteen months after the onset of the French Revolution. it was a horrible time. King Louis XVI didn't like the fact that he lost so much power and didn't trust the new government. Out of this power struggle rose Maximilien Robespierre. He took control of the government and tried to wipe out any trace of the old monarchy. Robespierre turned out to be a dictator to France. he was the one to create the Regin of terror. that was the name of his rule and if not fallowed there head was to be cut off. People grew tired of Robespierre cutting everyone's head off. People who worked in the government did not feel safe. they were constantly afraid their head might be the next to go. So a conspiracy was organized against Robespierre. He was arrested and his head was cut off. so that was the end of the Regin of terror.
